This isn't that big of a shock to anyone who's been paying attention to the SteamDB charts. At the time of this writing, the all-time player peak for the game on Steam, which was reached this past weekend, is 192,078 players. That's after the game already hit over 180,000 players on June 12th (launch day), which was a Thursday.
Keep in mind that Steam player counts aren't a very good metric for sales per se, but player counts this high for games that sell this fast are a relatively common thing.
