My, my, my – it has been a weekend. We have enough gaming announcements to last for quite a while! Sunday also delivered us the Xbox Games Showcase, where we got our first look at Keeper, a new project coming from Double Fine Productions.
What We Know about Keeper So Far
Now, what do we know about Keeper so far? Keeper promises to be "a story told without words". The story will place us in the role of a lighthouse, forgotten to time. As a simple lighthouse (let's just roll with it), you'll be joined by a seabird. Your new companion will provide you aid on your journey to the center of the island. Traverse beaches, make your way through deep tunnel systems, and meander across serene valleys. And all the while, your feathered friend will be aiding you along the way.

Artistically and visually, Keeper promises to be a stunning game and another feather in the cap of Double Fine Productions. Looking at the trailer, I get immediately struck with James and The Giant Peach vibes – that unique stop-motion look that truly sets a project visually apart from others on the playing field.

Double Fine Productions, best known for their Psychonauts series, will be bringing this atmospheric puzzle-adventure game to Xbox and PC on October 17, 2025. Lee Petty, known for their prior work on Psychonauts, will also be bringing their artistic flair to this new journey of adventure. And for you Xbox Game Pass members, Keeper will be available on day one. So, be sure to put Keeper on your wishlists today!
Be sure and check out Gamer Social Club's coverage of the full Xbox Games Showcase. Also, keep up-to-date here with more announcements on Keeper as we get them on our end!
