Bandai Namco and Kakehashi Games appeared at PlayStation’s State of Play, announcing that their origami-inspired 3D platform adventure game Hirogami will launch on PlayStation 5 alongside PC, and is available for pre-order now.
Hirogami, which we covered earlier this year, also got a release date, with this new adventure set to unfold on September 3rd, 2025.
You can watch the new trailer for Hirogami below.
In Hirogami, you take on the role of Hiro, a fan-wielding master of the art of folding. Using his abilities, Hiro can transform into various animal creatures to use in combat and traversal, on his journey to protect his fragile home from deadly digital invaders.
Here are some highlighted features from a press release we received for Hirogami:
A beautiful origami world to explore – Wander through a fragile and unique papercraft paradise as you work to restore peace to the lands.
Exciting animal powers to harness – Crash through obstacles as the hardy armadillo, flex your muscles as the mighty ape, leap to new heights as the formidable frog, or soar through the skies as an agile bird.
Platforming puzzles galore – Navigate a challenging 3D environment, using your different foldable forms to overcome obstacles, discover hidden secrets, and beat foes to a papery pulp.
Soothing Japanese soundtrack – Bask in an authentic soundscape featuring traditional Japanese instruments as you immerse yourself in the world of Hirogami.

Hirogami was just one of the many titles we got to see at the showcase today, and you can read about them all in our article covering every announcement from the PlayStation State of Play June 2025.
