How To Unlock The Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign

With a host of unique Nightfarers at your fingertips, it’s no secret that there are a few hidden beneath some of the usual questlines that Fromsoft is known for. In today’s guide, we will be showing the quickest and easiest way to unlock the Revenant class in Elden Ring Nightreign. Just know it can be quite a challenge and require you to fight a boss solo.

Please note that this character cannot be obtained until you obtain the duchess class. The duchess class can be unlocked by defeating Gladius, the first expeditions final boss. Once you defeat him you will be given an Old Pocketwatch, which must then be turned into the priestess to unlock the Duchess. The Besmirched Frame will not be available until that point, and you will therefore be locked out of this questline.

Step #1: Buy the Besmirched Frame item from the Small Jar Bazaar

After obtaining the Duchess, this Small Jar merchant will now have an item for sale named the Besmirched Frame. This item costs 1500 currency and is the first step in unlocking the revenant. Simply purchase it with your spoils and continue to our next step.

Step #2: Touch the Phantom in the Eastern Wing of the Roundtable Hold

After acquiring the Besmirched Frame item from the merchant, simply teleport back to the Roundtable Hold. The easiest way to describe where to find the phantom is to the east, or simply go down the hallway next to the character selection bell. Once you are through this small hallway, simply turn left and you will see her against the wall. Simply interact with her and select the option to “touch” her. This will teleport you to the next part of the questline.

Step #3: Fight the Night Idol Boss Fight

Once you get past the loading screen, you will be in a completely new area. All you must do to reach the Night Idol boss is simply follow the linear path south until you get to the ruins on the top of the hill. Once you get there, the fun begins. This boss fight is by all means trivial, and I highly recommend running a ranged class. I used the Ironeye class, as it can be difficult and highly frustrating as a melee Nightfarer. If you insist on running a melee class, I recommend the raider to run her down with your grappling hook. Her health pool is small, and you can really approach the fight any way you see fit. Once you defeat her, she will be added to your roster and you will be able to use her on all future expeditions.
