Well, within 24 hours, Elden Ring Nightreign has launched and already has 2 million players! While FromSoftware designed the game to be a three-player co-op roguelite, you can solo play. However, you may have better luck passing through solid matter, as it is tough (even for a Souls game).

But never fear, Foul Tarnished! FromSoftware has heard your cries and will be releasing a patch (slated for some time next week). This patch will reportedly make the solo expeditions easier for all you solo gamers out there.
Nightfarers,

Thank you for playing #ELDENRING #NIGHTREIGN.
Next week, Patch 1.02 will be released, and will include several bug fixes as well as improvements for solo expeditions.
Further details will be provided next week.
There are slated bug fixes, as well as this improvement update for solo expeditions in Patch 1.02. But how will it actually be easier? FromSoftware has noted that they will add the effect "Automatic Revival Upon Defeat", which provides one revival per night boss battle, to solo expeditions. Additionally, they will also increase the amount of runes gained.
In theory, and I cannot stress this enough (as someone who is trash at most Souls games), this should make the Elden Ring Nightreign experience easier! With a guaranteed revival in night boss fights and increased runes to speed up leveling, solo adventurers will have more of a fighting chance.
FromSoftware stated that further details surrounding Patch 1.02 will be provided next week. In the interim, we should expect to continue to see Elden Ring Nightreign sales continue to soar as we near the summer in the Northern Hemisphere. It is worth noting that the predecessor to Nightreign, Elden Ring, surpassed 30 million copies shipped as of April 2025.
Dearest Tarnished, we are profoundly thankful for your lasting devotion.
