Amazon’s TV adaption of the Fallout TV show was aired in 2024 and quickly became one of the best received video game to small screen adaptations of all time. Season 1 was highly successful with critics and fans alike and currently sits at a rating of 8.3 on IMDB. The show has now been renewed for Season 3, despite Season 2 not yet being released.

Clearly the show’s developers and Bethesda have big plans for the series staring Ella Purnell (Lucy MacLean), Aaron Morten (Maximus) and Walton Goggins (Cooper Howard). Season 2 will now launch in December 2025, which will be some nice post-apocalyptic viewing to go alongside the Christmas turkeys.

Announcing the news today, Amazon had the following to say:

“We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout,” Vernon Sanders, the Amazon MGM Studios Global Head of Television, said. “Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to vivid life on Prime Video. Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of season two.”

Whilst the future of Fallout games is unclear, fans are currently speculating as to whether Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas will receive the same excellent current-gen treatment that recently released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered received. But at least with the TV series, we know there’s definitely more coming from the world of Pip Boys.
