The Virtua Fighter series has been around since 1993 and has spanned numerous mainline entries and spinoff titles including Virtua Fighter Kids and more. The last mainline entry to the series was 2006's Virtua Fighter 5 and believe it or not, Sega haven't yet given up on the fifth entry to the series yet.
Virtua Fighter 5 came to the Xbox 360 in 2006 and PlayStation 3 in 2007. Since then we have witnessed: Virtua Fighter 5 Online (2007), Virtua Fighter 5 R (2008), Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown (2010-2020) Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown (2021) - and breathe!
Now, Sega are bringing Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. to current-gen consoles, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is a remaster of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown that plays at 4K60fps and "incorporates 13 year’s worth of player feedback". R.E.V.O. introduces high-res textures and online modes for up to 16 players.
Another addition for R.E.V.O. is the implementation of rollback netcode, which will minimize lag when taking on players from all across the world.

Sega continues to dip in to its back catalogue to bring old classics to the 21st century. There is a new entry to the Virtua Fighter series in development but little is known at this time. New entries of classic titles including Crazy Taxi, Shinobi and more are in development. Meanwhile the Sonic franchise continues to live on through video game and now Hollywood fame.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is available now on Steam and will launch on current-gen consoles "˜soon'.
