If you have even the slightest interest in video games, you'll know that yesterday Rockstar Games released GTA VI's Trailer 2. The absolutely sensational trailer showcases more about the game's story, characters and the jaw dropping world of Vice City that awaits us next May.
Rockstar are masters of their craft and consistently push the technological boundaries of the medium. Comparing GTA VI to some of the industry’s other most stunning games - Hellblade 2 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to name a couple - the graphics of the world's most anticipated game look almost too good to be true.
When the trailer launched it was a genuine concern of fans that the trailer was captured on a PlayStation 5 Pro. But fear not as Rockstar have confirmed Trailer 2 was captured on a base PS5. This will be reassuring news for gamers on PlayStation 5 who have no intention of making the mid-gen upgrade. Meanwhile it is likely that the Xbox Series X version of the game will be of a commensurate standard. What the performance of an Xbox Series S port of the game will look like is something we'll likely wait a long time to hear more about.
As well as confirming that Trailer 2 was captured on a base PS5, Rockstar also confirmed Trailer 2 features equal parts gameplay and cutscenes. From Trailer 2 its quite clear that some sections are cut scenes, whilst one would expect the more action packed moments are gameplay. The GTA series has featured its renowned cinematic camera option since the PlayStation 2 era, fans can be almost certain this will return for some stunning game clips.
The hype only continues for GTA VI. Knowing Rockstar, it is unlikely we'll get a whiff of news for months now. Be assured, GSC will be covering every piece of Grand Theft Auto VI news as it breaks all the way through to launch on May 26 2026.
