UK developer White Paper Games, known for games such as The Occupation and Dahlia View, have unveiled their next game, I AM RIPPER.
I AM RIPPER is a British Thriller set in the 1980’s (1988 to be exact), a time of brutality and economic downturn. You will play as a forensic investigator who is being called on to solve one of the UK’s most prolific crimes. You will be tasked with making critical decisions which will change the outcome of the investigation including challenges that will put the fate of others in your hands, you just won’t know who’s until you’ve made your choice.

The game will feature a branching narrative, which will be shaped by those decisions and can change the story completely. White Paper is known for crafting gripping narratives and I AM RIPPER looks to continue that tradition. Most of the game’s mechanics center around the investigations and looking for clues.
White Paper Games says that the thriller genre is underutilized withing gaming and they aim to showcase the abilities of the genre with I AM RIPPER.

“The thriller genre is underserved. We have media on TV, in movies, documentaries and podcasts, but we have few game examples. We want I AM RIPPER to cater to all those people who love gritty thrillers, but don’t have an interactive way of exploring the themes, situations and challenges in a non-linear way.”
As of right now there is no release date for I AM RIPPER and the only platforms mentioned are Steam and Epic Game Store. You can see the trailer unveiling below.
