Starfield news has been incredibly light as of late, earlier this year Bethesda reassured fans of an exciting 2025 but we've had little news on new content, quality of life updates or little else since the Shattered Space DLC launched in late-2024. We enjoyed Shattered Space in our review, however at the time we noted "there's still a lot of the more annoying aspects of Starfield present and it feels like they missed a few opportunities".
Whilst what the bigger picture future holds for Starfield remains unclear, Bethesda haven't yet given up on improving the games performance and stability. Today, they have pushed out optional Update 1.15.214 to Steam Beta. To install the Starfield Beta, players should follow these instructions:
- Open your Steam Library and navigate to Starfield
- Right click on “Starfield” and select “Properties”
- In the new properties pop-up window, select “Betas”
- In the beta drop down to opt into, select “beta”
- Wait for app to download new build and launch

With more Microsoft games steadily moving over to PlayStation, it may not be long now until we see Starfield launching on Sony's platform.
