Moroi

  • Developer: Violet Saint
  • Publisher: Good Shepherd Entertainment
  • Release Date: Out Now!
  • Platforms: PC(Steam)

Another banger from our trip to London Games Fest. Moroi is a surreal, darkly humorous action-adventure game that plunges you into a bizarre, nightmarish world. You wake up as a nameless character in a mysterious prison, with no memory of how you got there. The game is packed with strange puzzles, quirky NPCs, and macabre scenarios inspired by Romanian folklore, Kafkaesque storytelling, and Lynchian visuals.

As you navigate the grisly labyrinth, you’ll encounter talking meat grinders, self-cannibalizing prisoners, and ducks that gift you their teeth to upgrade your weapons. Combat is isometric and viscerally juicy, with a selection of melee weapons, guns, and incredibly crunchy execution moves that heal you. The art style is a mix of medieval and steampunk, all with a delightful layer of gore and grime.

It's a wild ride that blends absurdity with bloody action – perfect for fans of unconventional storytelling and indie creativity.

The game follows an eight-year-old protagonist as he kicks a ball through the streets, parks, and school playgrounds of Quito, highlighting the excitement and joy of childhood.

What makes despelote special is its ability to blend autobiographical storytelling with interactive exploration, using real-world recordings and stylized visuals to evoke the feeling of distant memories. Electrogical

  • Developer: Kinjo
  • Publisher: Phoenixx Inc.
  • Release Date: 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam)

Electrogical is a puzzle game that combines jigsaw mechanics with mathematics. You need to place the jigsaw pieces in the correct area to get the right result at the end and complete the circuit. Currently in Early Access, Electrogical features a futuristic sci-fi aesthetic with pixel graphics and a cute little electronic cat called NEKO.

The puzzles seem pretty simple at first, with basic addition and subtraction, but as you play on, you'll need to get the grey matter working as it introduces things like wifi symbols that teleport you to other areas of the puzzle, and more complex operators making the order of operations significantly more important. The jigsaw pieces mean that only certain things can fit together, so even if you can see a solution mathematically, you may not be able to make it – so get those thinking caps on!

Robes and Wrinkles

  • Developer & Publisher: Tombstone Studios Ltd
  • Release Date: 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam)

Robes & Wrinkles is a quirky, story-driven dungeon crawler set in a gothic tower during the 15th-16th century. You play as a hilariously evil and elderly sorcerer who’s been betrayed by their apprentice and kicked from their throne to the tower’s depths. Your mission? Climb back up, room by room, floor by floor, using magical spells, solving puzzles, and battling foes to reclaim your throne and exact vengeance. Your main spell is telekinesis, so get ready to pick up some ragdolling enemies (or boxes, or chickens) and hurl them back at their friends.

The game is packed with chaotic ragdoll physics, comic-book visuals, and farcical humor. It features a mix of handcrafted and procedurally-generated levels, themed tower floors, and bosses, plus an endless dungeon mode for replayability. It’s all about turning serious moments into satire, making it a lighthearted yet engaging adventure. We were lucky enough to play it and meet the guys at Tombstone Studios Ltd at the London Games Festival, and it’s definitely worth a watch!

Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage

  • Developer & Publisher: Fabled Games
  • Release Date: 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam)

In 2019, Pirate Outlaws launched and became a very positively reviewed game on Steam. Now the team at Fabled Game looks to give players a new, exciting, and yet familiar experience with the sequel due out later this year.

In this demo, play as Gabi, a young pirate ready to explore the high seas and collect treasure. This roguelike deckbuilder allows you to collect cards and build a hand that works best for you as you deal with other pirates, monsters, and other dangers in the sea. Collect the loot that is put in the world to achieve your goals. As with most roguelikes, death is not the end, but a means to an end. You’ll be revived and keep trying to find more treasures and unlock new card options.

In this demo, while Gabi is the only playable character, you can unlock 3 animal companions and outfit Gabi in the best clothing for a pirate. Gabi also has 3 different classes, so you can get a feel for the different options that will be unlocked in the full release of this game. With over 150 cards and 50 relics to find, this demo will keep you busy for quite some time. Navigate the seas, find new treasure, and stake your claim as the best pirate around!

Button Man

  • Developer & Publisher: Styrax Studios Inc.
  • Release Date: 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam)

Button Man transports players to the bustling seaside city of Kingsport, a charming town hiding a seedy underbelly of bootlegging and crime. You step into the shoes of Bruce McKenzie, a professional “Button Man” for the local Kingpin, whose sudden murder sparks a thrilling quest for justice. As Bruce, you’ll build a team of allies, uncover secrets, and ultimately decide the fate of Kingsport itself.

Blending classic point-and-click adventure mechanics with beat ’em up action, Button Man offers players the freedom to tackle challenges through clever dialogue, puzzle-solving, or hard-hitting combat. Whether you choose to negotiate your way through a standoff or throw punches, the game rewards both brains and brawn.

Every visual element, from character sprites to animated sequences and detailed backdrops, is hand-drawn with painstaking care. Drawing inspiration from 1920s and 1930s comic art, the game’s aesthetic captures the spirit of the era with authenticity and style. Complemented by a fully illustrated comic book, Button Man delivers a rich, atmospheric experience that brings Kingsport’s gritty world to life.

Clover Pit

  • Developer: Panik Arcade
  • Publisher: Future Friend Games
  • Release Date: 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam)

CloverPit is a roguelike slot machine game, where you need to win enough coins to pay off increasing amounts of debt each turn or suffer the consequences. Initially, something like Luck by a Landlord springs to mind, but you won’t be designing your own slot machine here; you’ll just need to get lucky. As you make it through each round, you get upgrades to your machine that can manipulate the odds of certain symbols, and there are over 150 charms to discover to try and tilt the odds in your favour – careful though, you can only have a set amount at a time and you might want to gamble more for better ones!

The game is set in a grim, rusty escape room, with a slot machine, an ATM, and a vending machine. There’s also a phone, which the disembodied voice keeping you in the room does not appreciate you answering. The visuals lean into the horror theme of the game, with dim lighting and a gritty aesthetic that sets it up to be a tense experience along the lines of Buckshot Roulette. Definitely one to watch out for, for horror and roguelite fans.

Pocket Legend

  • Developer & Publisher: Shading Box
  • Release Date: 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam)

Pocket Legend is a deck builder roguelite that combines mechanics from the classics like Slay the Spire with a grid-based inventory style management system, similar to Backpack Hero. In order to attack, you need to equip weapon cards to your backpack – but in order to attack efficiently, you’ll want to make sure you fulfill all the special conditions of your weapons – all while paying attention to blocking and overcoming enemy weaknesses!

The art style draws on traditional JRPG elements, with your isekai-d hero fighting off a host of enemies that are harvesting people’s souls alongside your sentient weapons and shields. I played this at London Games Fest, New Game Plus, and was immediately hooked on the deckbuilding, inventory management combo. Choose between a host of different weapons to keep turns snappy or expand your bag as much as possible to fire off a whole host of combos.

Cassette Boy

A puzzle RPG based on Quantum Mechanics might not sound like a good time to everyone, but as someone who struggled through two years of it at Uni, it’s exactly what I’m looking for from a video game.

In Cassette Boy, the world operates on the principle that unobserved objects cease to exist. Using the camera, you manipulate perspective to bring objects in and out of existence, solving puzzles and uncovering hidden paths. This unique mechanic, called the “Schrodinger system,” challenges players to think creatively as they navigate a 3D world disguised as 2D.

You’ll need to fight through monsters and manipulate the world around you to unlock the means to move forward, which could be something as simple as finding a key to complex perspective puzzles that change the rules of reality.

Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade

  • Developer: 7QUARK
  • Publisher: Game Source Entertainment
  • Release Date: May 14th, 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4 & PS5, Nintendo Switch

Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is an isometric roguelike set during an alternative version of the Edo period of Japan, when humans and demons lived harmoniously. That is, until the arrival of the Nine-tailed Fox, who sows the seeds of discord. Choose from three playable characters, Shigure, Sara, or Teketora, each with their own playstyle and story to experience.

Alongside the choice of playable characters, there are weapons to craft and upgrade, as well as new skills to unlock for your characters at the end of a run. There are many ways to define your playstyle, with half the fun being trying out new weapons and abilities. With a clean and attractive art style that lets the character and enemies visually pop on screen.

We won’t have to wait long to get our hands on the full release of this cozy roguelike, but if you’d like to read more of our thoughts on the game, you can check out our Yasha: Legends of the Demo Blade Preview.
