If Assassin's Creed Shadows didn't have enough content for players to get stuck in to already, Ubisoft has confirmed the Year 1 Roadmap which includes a wealth of free updates for the game.
Updates will include more free and paid story DLC which will flesh out stories of side characters, a New Game Plus and more traversal options.
Assassins Creed Shadows Story DLC
With the plan to add more story content focused on the games best side-characters, in early May we will receive the first free quest - "˜The Works of Luis Frois'.
June will see the second free story DLC update with the further addition of a new ally for your league. Finally, the games first full paid expansion "˜Claws of Awaji' will launch later this year. The expansion will be free for those of you who pre-ordered the game.

Gameplay performance and quality of life changes
Alongside these key story updates will be a series of gameplay updates and quality of life improvements.
Fans will be pleased to hear that a New Game+ mode will be coming to AC Shadows later this year. NG+ will raise the level cap and enable players to restart a new game taking forward their earned abilities and attributes for a second journey across Japan. Ubisoft are also working on a new difficulty setting allowing players to increase the challenge from enemies.
Traversal and Assassin's Creed are synonymous, In late-May Shadows will add significant updates to parkour including back and side ejects which help with traversal, as well as a new vertical ledge jump.
Also on the horizon are additions and updates to photo mode which includes the ability to change characters facial expressions, character poses, filters and much more. A further welcome addition for immersion purposes is the ability to toggle headgear off during cut scenes.

Ubisoft were keen to point out that they're listening to fans and want feedback to help shape the future of Shadows via their Discord channel. If you want to read more about the Year 1 Roadmap you can find more on Ubisoft's blog post.
