If you are as excited as us over here at Gamer Social Club for Borderlands 4 then we have some fantastic news for you today. GearBox has officially announced that we’ll be getting our hands on the game a little earlier than anticipated, now on September 12th. You can wishlist it starting today!

While its initial release date was September 23rd, 2K and Gearbox have made the decision to move it up. The reason? Well that's speculation that we will leave to the readers. The news gets even better for the Borderlands 4 release. Over on X, PlayStation also announced the game is getting its own state of play. This 20 minute state of play will preview new weapons, abilities, missions, and more!
We already know of some exciting new features coming to the franchise. These include new mechanics like double jumping, gliding, and dodging. We’ll also see elemental abilities such as throwable axes made of fire and ice. There will be local split screen for two players and online co-op for up to four players with cross-play support. Players can look forward to a seamless multiplayer experience no matter what platform you and your friends are on.

The story takes place after the events of Borderlands 3 with a world altering catastrophe threatening the Order and the Vault Hunters and Crimson Raiders morning the death of their allies. It will introduce a new villain “The Timekeeper” who seeks to dominate Pandora. And will also have Four brand new Vault Hunters with fresh and exciting play styles!

Borderlands 4 will have an overwhelming amount of weapons, up to a billion different combinations to try out. The games loot system will also have something besides just weapons or items leaving fans excited at the possibilities of different gameplay changes. From the trailer it looks like alien weapons will make a return and of course the diverse rarity levels will be prevalent and we can’t wait to hunt those legendaries!!
