It seems 2025 has had a bit of a Soulslike drought so far. I can’t think of any notable ones, outside of The First Berserker: Khazan, and the upcoming Lies of P: Overture DLC. Perhaps our wait is over, as WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers now has a release date.
With the warranted excitement around The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, publishers would do well to give those titles a wide berth. Now, with the summer ahead, WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers sets its sights on your holiday time.
That’s right, the Soulslike title will release on 24 July 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles. It’s also releasing day one, on Xbox Game Pass. You can check out the latest trailer where they reveal the release date alongside a frenetic boss battle with ‘The Perfect Bride’.
Become Wuchang
WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers is a soulslike, action RPG set in the land of Shu during the dark and tumultuous late Ming Dynasty, plagued with warring factions and a mysterious illness spawning monstrous creatures. Inspired by ancient Chinese mythology and Mind Dynasty folklore, as you can see from the trailer, you’ll have some interesting looking encounters.
You play as Wuchang, a skilled pirate warrior who’s inconveniently got amnesia. She must navigate the uncertainties of her past while dealing with the horrific Ornithropy disease.

You’ll need to explore the depths of Shu to find new weapons and skills. By seeking out and sacrificing the hard-to-find ‘Red Mercury,’ you’ll be able to improve your fighting style.
What makes WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers stand out from other Soulslikes? With every death and kill, you increase your attack power, but at the same time, you become more vulnerable. If your ‘inner demon’ becomes too powerful, it will take form, and you will need to fight your inner demon, or lose what you’ve gained.
In the latest trailer, a Deluxe Edition was announced, which includes new costumes, weapons, and a skill upgrade. Those who preorder the game will be given the ‘Night & White’ pack, which includes two costume sets, an axe, and a skill upgrade.

I was already looking forward to this game, I’m even more buzzing now we have a release date. And, how awesome was that new trailer and boss fight?! Sign. Me. Up.
Will you be picking up WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers when it releases in July?
