Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has been a huge success for developer Warhorse Studios with the sequel selling 2 million copies in pretty quick time, including 1 million in its first day. As well as the game being incredibly well-received commercially, the critical success has poured in for the game with a Metacritic score currently sitting at 88 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The launch has left players eager for more medieval RPG greatness with the planned DLC, Brushes with Death. Yesterday in a developer livestream which you can watch on YouTube, the developers have shared a first glimpse of what we can expect.
Brushes with Death will be a smaller DLC and will include a new shield painting mechanic, additional story content and much more. The story for the DLC involves you meeting the painter, Master Voyta. You will help Voyta find inspiration to create paintings that will help him be recognised as one of his generations greatest artists. The developers shared a look at the shield painting mechanic during the livestream as you can see below:

Additionally, Update 1.3 will arrive alongside Brushes with Death for free in May adding a barber feature, hardcore mode and horse racing. Update 1.3 will also add balancing changes including buffs to foes located in Kuttenberg.
The two larger DLCs, Legacy of the Forge and Mysteria Ecclesiae will launch later in 2025 with more details to follow. Here is the current roadmap for the games new content:
