Remedy Announces FBC Firebreak’s Release Date And More

Remedy Entertainment, the studio behind such game series as Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Control, had a live stream for their upcoming co-op first-person shooter FBC Firebreak. Not only did we get a nice, long look at gameplay, but we also got a slew of details, including FBC Firebreak’s release date, price, and game editions.

You can watch the full live stream on the official Remedy Entertainment YouTube channel.

FBC Firebreak, which made an appearance at the Galaxies Gaming Showcase and where they announced today’s live stream, is set to release on June 17th, 2025. The game will be releasing on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, as well as launching Day One on Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

There is currently no information about a physical release for FBC Firebreak, but it will launch with two versions: the standard and deluxe editions. The standard edition of the game will be priced at $39.99/€39.99/£32.99, while the Deluxe edition of the game will be $49.99/€49.99/£39.99.

The Deluxe edition of FBC Firebreak will come with some extras available immediately, including the Firestarter armour set, a couple of voice packs, a skin for the double-barreled shotgun, and a golden spray tag. Players can then also look forward to unlocking 4 armour sets, 12 weapon skins, and 12 sprays as part of the Firestarter Classified Requisition.

The live stream was hosted by Mike Kayatta and Julius Fondem, FBC Firebreak’s Game director and Community manager, respectively, as they showed off a recent in-studio demo of the game. They broke down how loadouts will work in the game, with each member in 3 person teams having a specific kit to perform special actions, along with a primary weapon and grenades.

The developers then showed off one of the game modes called Paper Chase, where players must destroy sticky notes that are replicating at an alarming rate, and one of the game’s levels, the Executive Sector. The job culminates in a showdown with a boss the devs call “Sticky Ricky”, and if you have seen the gameplay trailer for FBC Firebreak, you probably have an idea who, or what, that is.

FBC Firebreak is set in the Oldest House, the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control, and the setting of the game Control. Taking place 6 years into a full lockdown and the events of Control, the Hiss enemies are still running amok, resulting in the Firebreak Initiative. You play as a frontline volunteer, literally a pencil-pusher with a gun, tasked with the weirdest scenarios the Oldest House and the Hiss can throw at you.

With Control 2 in development, FBC Firebreak will hopefully work as a bridge between the first and second games, as the Remedy-verse continues to grow.
