EA Sports have today announced that FC 25 (or FIFA 25, like everyone still calls the series) will soon be receiving a paid Season Pass, just in time for the annual Team of the Season (TOTS) updates. The 40-tier pass will launch today, 25 April 2025 at 7am UTC.
The pass will cost players 500k UT Coins, which can be purchased for 1000 FC Points, costing you approximately $10 USD or £9 GBP. Straightforward, huh. The Pass will be available in Football Ultimate Team (FUT), Clubs and Career modes.
Included in the Pass will be tradeable packs, seasonal pointer boosters, TOTS items including high-rated players and more. By completing the Season Pass, the final reward is a 96-rated French legend, Franck Ribery. Whilst gamers are typically happy when Season/Battle Passes lock cosmetics and consumables behind paywalls, the blocking of players seems gross. Here are all of the items you can unlock:

Detailing the pass on the FC 25 Pitch Notes, EA said that "This new premium tier is an additional ladder to the standard seasonal ladder available through FC Points and Football Ultimate Team Coins, and will include new tradable rewards, Player Items, Evolutions and more."
The paid Season Pass is in addition to the standard seasonal ladder, meaning there will be lot of items for players to unlock. Whilst there will be inevitable outcry about the further monetization of the most popular football / soccer game on the planet, perhaps it's surprising that it took until now for a paid Season Pass to become acquirable in an EA Sports FC game. FC 25 is a solid football game, it was nominated for GSC's 2024 Best Sports/Racing game and I play Clubs with friends a lot. Whilst I've not spent an extra penny in-game till now, its becoming increasingly difficult to avoid the microtransactions.
What do you think of the new FC 25 Season Pass? Is it just another cash-grab in what is already a heavily microtransaction driven title? Let us know in the comments below a stick with GSC for more FC news.
