The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been out a matter of hours and already the game has seemingly started incredibly well sales-wise.
The game, only officially announced earlier today, launched with no official marketing campaign – although some of the high-profile leaks leading up to the game appeared purposeful – has leapt to a Steam concurrent player count of 150k (and rising) at the time of writing this article.
Even more impressive is the fact that the game is included in Xbox Game Pass for PC, meaning many other PC players will be playing the game via their subscription service.
The game’s announcement today has been met with very positive fanfare. Despite being called a remake, the game has been visually recreated in its entirety, including the world, NPCs, and more.
Additionally Bethesda and Virtuos have spent time bringing the game up to modern gameplay standards with sprinting, refreshed combat, new dialogue and much more.
Also included in the Remaster the original’s two big DLC packages, Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. There is also a Deluxe Edition upgrade that includes horse armour, a self-aware nod to the original’s notorious DLC.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is now available on Steam, Windows PC and Xbox Series X/S (including Play Anywhere and Game Pass) and PlayStation 5.
