After what seems like a frenzy of rumours, speculation, and all-but-confirmation. Bethesda has finally acknowledged that the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered exists. Well, more or less.
Posting on social media, Bethesda announced “all will be revealed” on YouTube and Twitch at 11am EST, 8am PST, and 4pm BST. Although they’ve not explicitly said it, posting the below image with a giant “IV” is not overly subtle.

Whether the long-awaited remaster will also launch tomorrow is yet to be confirmed. It’s already a pretty big launch week anyhow, but this would be the cherry on top. Still, given the focus on today’s date from the rumour-mongers (and quite a lot of legit-looking corroboration) being the likely release for the game, it’s probably not unlikely.
The long-expected remake of the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion first caught people’s attention during the Activision Blizzard purchase when unredacted documents got leaked, alluding to a remake of the game. Being one of the original releases in the early Xbox 360 days, Oblivion is much loved.
And whilst we’ve got something of an epoch to wait for the sequel to Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, this will hopefully plug a nice Bethesda gap.
I spent an ungodly amount of time on the original Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, nearly 20 years ago (oh my, do I feel old). So I am very excited to see what this remaster is going to bring to the table.
Are you excited for the remaster? Will you be tuning in to the reveal tomorrow?
