Bungie is finally set to reveal gameplay for its upcoming new project, Marathon. The extraction shooters reveal date was unveiled thanks to the community’s work in an alternate reality game that unlocks the date. The reveal is set for Saturday April 12th.

The reveal will be streamed at 1pm EST, 10am PST and will feature the first ever gameplay of Marathon as well as news and updates about the game. The stream will be available on Twitch, YouTube and TikTok.

So far very little is known about Marathon other than it is a team-based extraction shooter set on the mysterious planet of Tau Ceti IV. Players will play as Runners, cybernetic mercenaries who were designed to survive the planets harsh elements. While exploring the world players will find loot, including weapons and gear.

Marathon is Bungie’s first completely new project in over a decade and first under the PlayStation umbrella. The studio has been going under some big changes since the acquisition having let go 17% of their workforce last summer. All had been quiet with Marathon until earlier this week when the X account suddenly started posting again revealing a cryptic roll out. Marathon was first announced back in 2023.

Of course Bungie is known for 2 of the most iconic first person shooters in video game history with Halo and Destiny. It would appear Marathon will be closer to a Destiny type game considering the looting aspect but we will have to wait and see.

Next week will surely be a big week for the studio as fans are eager to see what they’ve cooked up. A lot of pressure will be on this first big reveal. Are you excited to finally see Marathon? Let us know below.
