A new trailer for the highly anticipated indie release of Mewgenics has just dropped today, April 4th, 2025, which features work done by Dead In A 1:00 . The account is known for finding creative ways to feature what someone or somethings last minute in life may look like in somewhat insane and often comedic ways. The Mewgenics trailer is definitely no exception.
If you’ve not heard of it, Mewgenics is a tactical role-playing rougelike life simulator where you will breed cats. The game has been in the works for many years but will finally see a release this year. Mewgenics is in development by Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel. Edmund McMillen is known for creating indie hits like Super Meat Boy and The Binding Of Isaac. Glaiel has been no stranger to working with McMillen, working on and off with him since 2008. The two have worked pretty consistently since developing The End Is Nigh, which many fans see as a “What could have been” if the split out of Team Meat hadn’t have happened and McMillen got the chance to complete a sequel to the critically acclaimed game.
The official Steam page already shares insights into Mewgenics for fans clamoring for information. Mewgenics will feature over 100s of hours of game play, more than 6 different classes, and the ability to make more room for more cats! So when can you become a “crazy cat person”? Mewgenics has been confirmed by McMillen to be releasing at some point this year. While the date or release window is not yet known, We will keep you informed when more information is available.
