The Electrifying Incident

The Electrifying Incident is a top-down puzzle game with a cute, clean sci-fi aesthetic. In this “bite-size” adventure, you’ll have to navigate the facility to repair the malfunctioning generator, all while trying not to get electrocuted!

All you have is your extendable claw that allows you to pick up and move blocks around the environment from various distances. These blocks can be used in various ways, from opening doors to turning electrical currents on or off. As you travel deeper into the facility and the puzzles escalate in complexity, you’ll need to learn how different things interact, and always be aware of your surroundings, lest you get shocked!

The team at Draknek and Friends has promised a short experience with The Electrifying Incident, estimating a playtime of 60-90 minutes. Designed with a quick retry button prompt in case of accidental electrocution, gamers can expect a nice level of challenge, heightened by a well-thought-out UX. Remember, it’s all in the arm!

Shape Of Dreams

  • Developer: Lizard Smoothie
  • Publisher: NEOWIZ
  • Release Date: May 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam)

Shape of Dreams is a co-op roguelite with MOBA-style gameplay, where you and your friends need to team up to find your way through "The Rapids". The game's playable Prologue and Demo have been available on Steam for a little while now, with both receiving Overwhelmingly Positive reviews.

The game allows players to edit their hero’s memories to create unique characters, combining past memories with mysterious gems called Essence to grant special effects and synergies. There are solo challenges for players who can't wrangle together 3 other friends or co-op mode with up to four players. There's a big emphasis on creativity and adaptability, as you swap gems and moves with your friends on the run – allowing for unconventional character builds, such as a ranged attacker with a healing shield if that only procs in melee or a crowd control mage that also deals ridiculous dps.

So grab some friends and jump into The Rapids – just watch out for Hunters!

Demo available on PC(Steam).

Esophaguys

  • Developer & Publisher: Esophaguys Team
  • Release Date: Q2 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam), Xbox One & Series, PlayStation 4 & 5, Nintendo Switch

Stretch, bite, and swing solo or with up to 4 friends in Esophaguys, a kooky blend of mini-game madness and unsettling body horror!

Compete with your buddies to prove your long-necked greatness, or play through a single-player campaign to reunite your bizarre kin. Try to keep it together as chaos ensues, and once you think you’ve got a hang of your neck, try out Esophaguys’ grueling speed run challenges!

Boasting SFX made up entirely of “mouth and guttural sounds”, Esophaguys could be your next favourite party game!

Demo available on Xbox.

Antro

  • Developer & Publisher: Gatera Studio
  • Release Date: 2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam), Xbox Series, PlayStation 5

On the official website, Antro describes itself as a "2.5D rhythm, action, puzzle and platform game, [where] music will be your ally!". The game has a very Inside feel to it, in that you're side-scrolling a foreground whilst in the background there's some malicious happenings from totalitarian government, "˜Dome'. The game is set in the fictional underground of a post-apocalyptic Barcelona.

There are alternating sections in the demo – some which are more narrative focused that you progress at your own pace. Whereas the more entertaining sections have auto-run enabled and you're pressing buttons in time with the Spanish hip hop to tackle various objects and enemies. Very satisfying stuff all around.

I'd never heard of Antro until scrolling through new demos on the Xbox Store, nor of developer Gatera Studio. But based on my ten-minute taster of the hip-hop-infused Inside-like, I'm really looking forward to playing more when it launches later this year.

Demo available on Xbox Series.

Once Upon A Puppet

  • Developer: Flatter Than Earth
  • Daedalic Entertainment
  • Release Date: 23rd April
  • Platforms: PC(Steam), Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch

Once Upon a Puppet is a 2.5D puzzle-platformer set in a theater-inspired world – the Kingdom of Theater. You take on the role of Nieve, a Stagehand exiled to the Understage, and control Drev, a Puppet connected to her through magical strings. Together, they embark on a journey to return to the Frontstage, revisiting forgotten tales, uncovering hidden secrets, and discovering their connection to the theater kingdom.

Included with the normal 2.5D platforming you'd expect of the genre, Once Upon a Puppet also leans heavily on its theatre inspirations, as Drev and Nieve rearrange backdrops and props to solve puzzles, show stories of the past, and defeat the evil creatures slowly taking over the Understage.

Quantum Pulse 2A

  • Developer & Publisher: Dashing Strike
  • Release Date:2025
  • Platforms: PC(Steam)

Quantum Pulse 2A is a puzzle game where you solve programming challenges on a fictional computer with unique limitations. The gameplay involves coding in an assembly-like language, optimising solutions, and competing on leaderboards against friends and players worldwide. The puzzles focus on using combinations of simple code on multiple channels to produce a different combination of outputs each time.

With its separate instruction manual to leaf through and Solitaire minigame for a little break from the programming action it takes a lot of notes from Shenzhen I/O and other games from Zachtronics where you slowly learn rules and shortcuts to simplify your solutions and apply them to more complex problems. You can rise up the leaderboards of each puzzle by completing challenges using fewer steps and implementing a cheaper solution. While the game doesn’t involve actual quantum computing, it offers a fun and challenging experience for those who enjoy coding and problem-solving.
