To celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX, which takes place on July 7th, publisher Square Enix has launched a new website.
Originally reported by Gametsu, Square Enix has several projects planned for the celebration, including merchandise and collaborations.
To kick off the FF IX’s 25th anniversary festivities, the series’ publisher has announced:
- Final Fantasy IX Picture Book: Vivi, Grandpa, and the Day of Departure - 44 pages, due out on July 2

- Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary Vinyl - Timeless Tale - due out on July 9
- Zoff x FF IX Collaboration Glasses - due out in early July
- Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary Lottery - details to be announced
Along with these goods, there will be a range of other collectibles for FF IX fans to enjoy, including a range of plush dolls, a replica of Princess Garnet’s necklace, and FORM-ISM figures of both Zidane (set to release in July) and Garnet (releasing in August).
You can check for further details on these items, including pricing, on the website.

This new website has only fanned the flames of a Final Fantasy IX remake, which was first seen as part of the infamous Nvidia leak of 2021. The look of the two FORM-ISM figures does an excellent job of capturing the original game’s aesthetic while giving it a modern brush up, exactly what fans would want from a remake. Our hope is that the remake is real and will be coming to all platforms, as part of Square Enix’s multiplatform strategy.
These are just the first lot of announcements to come out for FF IX’s 25th anniversary, and you can be sure we’ll be keeping an eye out for more.
