Announcements just keep rolling in for Sea of Thieves, like crystal blue waves breaking on sandy beaches. The team at Rare only just dropped their March Developer Update a couple of days ago, informing players of changes and improvements coming to many facets of Sea of Thieves. Today’s announcement is a bit more tangible for fans: a full range of Destiny 2 themed cosmetics called the “HereLightbearer Cosmetics”, available to buy from the Sea of Thieves Emporium today!

The video’s description gives a brief rundown of what is included in the new Sea of Thieves X Destiny 2 cosmetics range.
“Eyes up, pirates! Face your destiny and strike back against the Darkness with radiant Lightbearer gear, including a ship set, Silent, Mighty and Wise Collector’s items, Ship’s Crest, Costume Set and weapons.”
The official Sea of Thieves website breaks it down further. There are four different ship sets called Lightbearer, Silent, Mighty, and Wise, as well as Lightbearer costume set and a weapons pack.
The Rare team has made many cosmetics inspired by other video game IPs over the years, some examples being Borderlands, the Ori series, Gears of War, and Halo. This doesn’t include the many ship sets based on other Rare games, like Viva Pinata, Battletoads, and Banjo Kazooie. Now Bungie’s Destiny series can be counted among those that have received this commendation.
It’s also funny to think how this is technically Bungie’s second IP to get this treatment, as they were the original team behind Xbox’s most recognisable franchise, Halo. It warms this old seadog’s heart to see a collaboration like this happen!
Alongside the Destiny 2 cosmetics, players can also purchase the Dire Dark Warsmith Throwing Knives, Double Barrel Pistol, Grapple Gun and Blowpipe, as well as the new Gold Curse Toucan pet. Fancy!
