So you’ve made it through the torture chambers, you’ve succeeded in your ascension battles and now you and your team of rebels are ready to bring down the big bad boss of Hell.
But how exactly do you defeat the Prince of Darkness himself, Lucifer? Well here at Gamer Social Club, we’ve got a rundown of all you need to know for fighting the first boss in 33 Immortals!
If you’re still new to the game and need a hand figuring things out before you get to the boss, check out our beginners guide here!
Ascending into Hell
After you and your fellow rebels conquer 12 torture chambers three Ascension Battles unlock at different areas of the map. Hurry to one of them before the floor catches fire and take down all of the enemies – if you manage to complete your own battle quickly it’s a good idea to teleport to another one and help out your teammates as each Ascension Battle completed give you a legendary relic for the upcoming boss battle. Once the battles are won, take the opportunity to level up one last time and then Ascend.

You’ll arrive in the boss arena, and before the boss activates you might want to use your shield ability if you’re a sword user – or grab one from another rebel.
Shot Through the Heart
Lucifer’s weak spot should be pretty obvious when you see him. His frozen heart is on full display, so daggers users will want to buff up and leap in to get off as much damage as possible. All other weapon users will want to attack as quickly as possible – the bow’s special is particularly good during the damage phase so if you see someone trying to fire it, give them a hand.

After a certain amount of time or damage Lucifer will start charging up one of three AoE spells.
Eternal Sorrow

For Eternal Sorrow multiple crystals will span on the frozen floor. You need to destroy all of them to create a safe space to stand during the spell. Follow the group and focus down each crystal one at a time. You’ll need the co-strike damage bonus to take them down quickly enough, so don’t try and be a hero and take them on alone. He’ll also summon a group of enemies, but they’re just a distraction – FOCUS ON THE CRYSTALS!
If you manage to break them all then certain areas of the arena will be safe from his frozen rain – the floor will flash orange where the spell is going to hit so avoid those areas. If you didn’t manage to break all of the crystals move to the front of the arena and try and dodge as best you can. If you have a bubble shield you should be okay, but if you go down move away from the enemies and wait for a revive.
Last Betrayal

For this attack Lucifer will summon 3 elite enemies that need to be killed to again get safe places during the spell. This is the easiest attack to interrupt as the elites are quick to put down if you focus them with a group. Just make sure you are attacking the glowing blue ones – those are the one’s involved in the spell.
Again you’ll need to move to a safe spot once the spell starts. Try and stay near the centre of the arena and move left or right to get to the strip of space available. And if you didn’t manage to interrupt move to the far right or left of the arena pray for a bubble and dodge.

Frozen Halo

The last – and in my opinion the most annoying attack – is Frozen Halo. If you’ve played Dark Souls 3 you’ll be familiar with the plan here. You have to break his bracelets which will again give some breathing room during the attack. He moves his hands around a lot during this charge up phase but just keep focusing on one side – even breaking one bracelet will create a gap in the attack. The safe area will generally correspond to the bracelet that you broke so keep close to that side if you don’t manage to break both.
DPS Check
In between these attacks you’ll need to jump back into his heart and try and get off as much damage as possible. Lucifer has multiple health bars and if you do enough damage quickly enough you can stun him for a little bit so just wail on him as much as you can. Try and take out some of the more annoying elites that he spawns so you don’t get overwhelmed during his spell casting, but the main point is to burst him down. Use your specials as soon as you can, don’t wait just fire them off as soon as they’re charged.
Occasionally you’ll see a large circle around a player saying STACK. Rally around that player – once the circle is green it’ll protect players from taking lethal damage and numbers are the most important thing to dealing enough damage quickly enough.

Even if you don’t manage to kill Lucifer, you get rewards for each health bar you remove so don’t give up even if it looks hopeless. You might get a key for the next area or even a pet so keep going! If anyone needs revived follow them away from enemies and get them back up. It may take a few attempts, but if you focus on the fight objectives and make sure you’re levelled up and upgraded before going in you and the other 33 Immortals can take down the devil!
