2025 has a number of amazing looking 3D platformers set to release this year, and we just got the release date of another one, the “swap-tacular” Ruffy and the Riverside!

The announcement came way of PlayStation, who dropped the game’s release date trailer on their official YouTube channel and the PlayStation blog, and then spread the word across social media. Originally slated to release in Q1 2025, Ruffy and the Riverside will now release on June 26th.

In a press release that went out shortly after the announcement was made, the developers stated that the delay was made to “ensure a simultaneous release on all platforms and to make this the best possible game it can be”. Ruffy and the Riverside is releasing on PC (Steam, Epic Game Store), Xbox One & Series, PlayStation 4 & 5, and the Nintendo “Switch(es)”.

Ruffy and the Riverside is the creative 3D platformer being developed by German indie game developers Zockrates Labs. It mixes 3D environments reminiscent of N64/PS1 era platformers and hand drawn sprites that gives the game a unique look, and is full to bursting with personality and colour. But it’s the game’s SWAP ability, which lets the player change textures around the world, that makes the game stand out.

Clearly gamers are excited for Ruffy and the Riverside, with the game’s Steam demo currently in the top 20 platformer demos. Thankfully, they will only have to wait until June 26th to enjoy the complete adventure!
