People Can Fly Are Developing A Game Using A Sony IP

People Can Fly, the developers of Outriders, Bulletstorm, and Gears of War Judgement, have reached an agreement with SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment to make a game using a Sony IP.

A business report was published by the Polish studio on March 13th, announcing this agreement to make a game for the PlayStation platform, codenamed “Project Delta”.

This project joins a lengthy list of other People Can Fly projects, including “Project Gemini” with Square Enix, “Project Maverick” with Micrisoft (Xbox), “Project Echo” with Krafton, as well as a couple of internal projects. They have also been working on VR titles, like Bullerstorm VR (released in January 2024), and “Project Bison”.

Without a doubt, the highest profile game that People Can Fly are working on is Gears of War: E-Day, which they are co-developing with The Coalition. The studio has a long history with Xbox, and in particular the Gears of War franchise, as they helped co-develop the original trilogy for the Xbox 360.

Last year the developer also announced a project had been cancelled, Project Dagger. Not much was known about Project Dagger other than it was a co-op ARPG and had been in development for a couple of years before being cancelled.

Back in 2007, Epic Games acquired a majority share in People Can Fly, and the studio’s name was changed to Epic Games Poland in Novemeber 2013. In June of 2015, the studio regained their independence through a buyout, and returned to their original name and logo. Clearly, People Can Fly are enjoying and making the most of their independence, with a portfolio made up of several projects with numerous partners, including rival platform holders Microsoft and Sony.

Fans are already theorising what Sony owned IP the studio are working on, with franchises like Killzone, Socom, and Resistance being thrown around social media platforms and online forums.
