People Can Fly Cancels Unannounced Co-op Action RPG

Developer People Can Fly, the team behind games such as Bulletstorm and Outriders recently told investors they have cancelled “Project Dagger” after several years of development.

Not much is known about Project Dagger, only that it was a AAA co-op action RPG that was expected to release in the 2025-26 fiscal year. The game, which was originally picked up by Take-Two to publish before being dropped is the latest cancellation for the studio. In January the studio laid off 30 employees after cancelling an unannounced game they were working on with Square Enix.

Luckily not all is lost at the studio as it was recently announced that they are working on a game for Xbox publishing, which is codenamed Project Maverick. Hopefully the team working on Project Dagger can shift focus to Project Maverick rather than being laid off.
