Styx: Blades of Greed Announced

Cyanide studio announced earlier today that Styx: Blades of Greed is in development. The Third game in the Styx series, as well as being the 4th title in the Of Orcs and Men series, the game looks to be a stealth action title like the previous two games.

The first and second games, Master of Shadows and Shards of Darkness were both fun and challenging hardcore stealth titles, being throwbacks to classic games like Thief and the older Hitman games.

I remember Styx himself being a likeable protagonist that would actively roast the player if they kept dying too much in the second game and him having a lot of fun and downright devious abilities ranging from turning invisible to vomiting poison into the enemies drink supplies. In the new game’s trailer, he shows off abilities such as mind control and the ability to stop time.

No word on an official date yet but a Q4 release is planned suggesting late fall or winter. A reveal trailer for the game can be viewed here:

In the meantime I recommend checking Master of Shadows and Shards of Darkness out if you’re a fan of stealth games. While Styx may not be as popular as other stealth games, they certainly deserve more shine.

A lifelong gamer who enjoys playing on every platform. Eventually, I grew to love fighting games in particular and began to compete and even win competitions for some games, primarily the 2013 revival of killer instinct. Outside of gaming I also have aspirations of being a comic book artist with a few ideas of my own im developing in my head. When reviewing any game I try to keep my mind open and avoid nitpicking too much. It takes a lot for something to detract me from truly enjoying it so I may not focus on smaller details the way some others might do. I enjoy almost any genre, just don't ask me to play horror games or puzzle games.
