It appears it’s Xbox’s turn to have an outage issue. Many Xbox users are reportedly unable to use the Xbox Live service as they are met with an error code.

While the outage appears to be worldwide it is currently only affecting a small group. Those who are experiencing issues are met with error code 0x803f9008 with a message saying “For this game, you need to be online. Use this Xbox regularly? Make it your home Xbox so you can play games you own, even offline. Next time you’re online, go to Settings > General > My home Xbox.”

At this time the Xbox live status page has not acknowledged any issue, however it is 3am in Seattle at the moment so they simply might not be aware. Some users have reported restarting their console fixed the issue, however others say that didn’t help.
