If you’ve played horror games for as long as I have, you know that from time to time one of these entertaining scare fests hits the wrong chord with someone and has to be censored. It happened a few years ago with Martha Is Dead, and it’s happening again with Karma: The Dark World.
Wired Productions, the company publishing the game, put out a statement on X/Twitter today, on February 21st, that stated the following:
“Wired and our desire to deliver our developers true, unedited and original creative vision, go together like blood and exploding heads. But with that vision, is often the battle to appease ratings boards.” The statement continues “look, we get it, there’s a leg getting ripped of, a couple of deaths here or there and yes, a head does, infact, explode. Technically. But the thing is no console partner has had a problem with it, just the ratings board. Which means, unfortunately, our Japanese Playstation release is getting delayed”

They do go on to note in the statement that the PC release will be untouched in this manner, the Japanese release included, so whatever ratings board they have upset in Japan appears to only deal with the Sony release.
They don’t give a solid release date for the Playstation Japanese version, only that it won’t hit the March 27th date originally given. They also note that an Xbox release will follow shortly, but no further details on that were given on that, only that it’s coming.
