We finally have what is the first piece of news regarding The Elder Scrolls VI we have received in a very, very long time.
Whilst not gameplay or release date related, Bethesda have launched a "once in a lifetime" charity auction with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic for one lucky (and very wealthy!) bidder to win the right to work with the developers to create an NPC for one of the industry's most eagerly awaited titles.

From the Make-A-Wish listing, where you will need to search Bethesda to find the auction:
"One winner will have the opportunity to work with the Bethesda Game Studios development team to create a character to appear as a video game NPC in The Elder Scrolls VI
Calling all gamers and fantasy fans! This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity allows you to immortalize yourself in one of the most highly anticipated video games of all time, The Elder Scrolls VI. The Elder Scrolls series, developed by Bethesda Game Studios, is renowned for its vast open worlds, deep lore, and immersive storytelling. With this exclusive experience, you’ll work with the developers to create a custom character that will appear in the game, leaving your mark on the legendary franchise. "
Bethesda announced the auction via X at 9:50am PST time on Feb 17 2025. At the time of writing this article, the live bid is already a staggering $11,050 USD.
Following the launch of Starfield in September 2023 and the Shattered Space expansion in 2024, Bethesda's next major title was confirmed to be The Elder Scrolls VI which was originally announced on June 10 2018, since then the developers have offered very little notable updates and it is unknown when the Skyrim successor will launch. The news at least lets us know it is indeed still in development.
