Avowed Tips and Tricks

What it do gaming family, after my review of Avowed I thought I would give you all some tips and tricks to help in your journey through the Living Lands. The game has so much to offer but doesn't quite explain or give away all its secrets. So, here are a few Avowed tips I think will enhance or help you on your journey!

Points of View

The game doesn't go into a lot of detail about it, but you can go from 1st person to 3rd person view in the game. The easiest way to accomplish this is to press and hold the right stick (R3) in. This will change your viewing perspective, I'm partial to 3rd person normally, but it was a sight to see using magic in 1st person.

Explore, Explore and Explore Some More

One of the biggest and best things Avowed has to offer is exploration. There are backpacks, chests, lockboxes and other containers hidden all around the map. Granted all the gear you may find may not be exceptional or superb, but it will be useful in some capacity. So don't be afraid to travel off the beaten path, there is so much to find in the Living Lands.

Too Heavy

One thing I dislike in some RPG's is getting or becoming encumbered. It's an RPG, I must pick up everything, you never know if it's going to be important or not. Well, I hate to say you can become encumbered in Avowed, but that is easily solved. When you're over-encumbered, you will see a small lock in the middle of your screen. No worries though, all you must do is go to your inventory and either break some items down or send them to you stash. You can send items to your stash from anywhere. That's one of my favorite features in Avowed; I'm one of those people who pick up everything and this helps me so much.

Everything can Go!

Another way to get rid of some of those items is to sell them. There are certain items like diamonds, gems and such, those items have no other use other than being sold. You can also sell items such as weapons, armor, materials and consumables as well. You will also have access to your stash, so those items you sent can be sold without having to physically go to your stash and put them back into your inventory.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled

In the Living Lands there will be objects that you are able to interact with in some way. You will encounter breakable objects you are able to destroy with a sword or wand, burnable barriers that block hidden items, grates that you can freeze and essence generators.  Essence generators are activated by shock damage, you can use a spell, throw an electric lily seed or Giatta will be able to provide the shock. Another thing to be on the lookout for are destructible walls, you will use grenades or your charge ability to break though these. If you have the freeze spell or ability, you can use this when going across water. So, if there is a ledge you can't quite reach because its water beneath it, try freezing an area of the water and then use it to jump to the ledge.

Camping

In your party camp you not only will be able to talk to your companions, but this is where you can upgrade your weapons, armor, cook and more. You have cauldron that allows you to cook recipes to create consumables, you can use those spoiled food you may have picked up. There is also an enchanting station that can be used to enchant your weapons and armor. There is a tent to change your companions' outfits, a workbench where you will upgrade your items and a totem shrine. Once you collect a totem or totem fragment, they can be displayed here. By displaying a totem, it will give you powerful effects, but you can only have one totem active at a time.

Hopefully these Avowed tips will help you on your journey through the Living Lands. I know I could have used a few of these on my playthrough.
