The launch of Season 15 for Sea of Thieves is fast approaching, like a shark fin cutting through the waves, and the brilliant crew of the good ship Rare have dug up a few details for us to enjoy!
Before we go plundering these morsels of information, I wouldn’t be much of a pirate if I didn’t mention the new limited event taking place in the lead up to Season 15. Players can accept a special voyage to raid a dark fortress, available from today through to February 20th. Send those spectres back to the Sea of the Damned and reap the rewards!
The most recent video uploaded to the official Sea of Thieves YouTube account goes over some of the new content coming with Season 15. As always, there are new ship and pirate cosmetics and emotes to purchase, with the return of some classic items from Season 8.
There is also a new accessibility feature coming to Sea of Theives as part of Season 15; a comprehensive custom text overlay. This allows players to customise in game text to make it easier to read, including the options to adjust font size, colour and position, as well as the background colour. This will be accessible from the game’s in game menu.
By far the most valuable treasure that was uncovered is the addition of Pigs as pets! That’s right, soon you’ll be able to have your own salty sea-swine up on deck, curly tail and all. With an updated appearance which gives them a more hairy appearance and some short tusks, no doubt the dev team are working on some pig appropriate outfits that will make fans squeal.
If that’s not enough, another video was released on February 12th giving fans a sneaky peak at a new breed of megalodon swimming in the depths.
There is still more to come, but Rare have promised another detailed look at what else is coming in Season 15 closer to its release. No doubt this is when they will go in depth on the Hunter’s Call faction update, and the new wildlife being added. The season is called Wild Things, after all. Keep your eye on the horizon for the Gamer Social Club flag to know more about upcoming Sea of Thieves news.
