The Indie publisher Raw Fury has a busy 2025 planned, with several very cool looking titles releasing throughout the year. One of their most anticipated games is the fiendishly clever Blue Prince. Solo developed by Dogubomb, it’s a first person puzzle game that has been in development for over eight years. On Wednesday, February 12th, it was officially announced that the game would be coming to the current gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles alongside its Steam release in Spring 2025.
This wasn’t the only information to come from the succint post published to the Blue Prince social media accounts. They also revealed that the game would be landing on Xbox Game Pass and PlayStaion Plus at launch, lowering the barrier for players to try out Blue Prince. There is also a demo available on Steam for those curious to see what awaits them in the mysterious manor of Mt. Holly.
“Welcome to Mt. Holly, where every dawn unveils a new mystery. Navigate through shifting corridors and ever-changing chambers in this genre-defying strategy puzzle adventure. But will your unpredictable path lead you to the rumored Room 46?”
The gameplay of Blue Prince has you navigate this convoluted manor, choosing what room is behind each locked door you come across. Solve intricate puzzles and use tools you find hidden the different rooms you discover to improve each attempt to unlock this devious domicile. At the end of each run you return to your room to sleep, only to wake with a fresh floorplan awaiting you. Will you solve this labyrinth within a puzzle box and find the enigmatic Room 46?
I had the chance to play about twenty minutes of the Blue Prince demo at EGX 2024 and immediately was sucked into the mystery, mechanics, and gameplay loop. With its cool colour palette and calm soundtrack, I could see myself getting lost within Mt. Holly for hours at a time, and plan to do so! While there was plenty of buzz around this game before this announcement, I am glad that more people will get th chance to play Blue Prince and experience this genre defining experience.
Will you be trying Blue Prince when it releases this Spring? What platform will you be playing it on? Let us know in the comments.
