The Whitethorn Winter 2025 Showcase has just wrapped up, and we’ve got everything revealed from the indie publisher. With some new content, games, and platform availability announced, there was something for everyone!
Whitethorn Winter 2025 Showcase
Calico – Neat Things (PC, Switch)
The popular cat cafe game, Calico has received new DLC, Calico – Neat Things. It introduces new quests, a new character, new mini-games and plenty of new fluffy feline friends!
Here’s some of the things included in the new DLC:
- Neat Things Scavenger Hunt: Your beloved aunt has a mission for you that takes you across the whole island.
- New Area and NPC "” Mermaid's Cove: Visit Clover Cove to uncover a new area, and meet a mythical new friend "” Nahla the Mermaid!
- New Animal Companions: Become best buds with new cuddly friends. Including a mischievous raccoon, a smiley axolotl, a playful elephant, a loveable golden retriever, and, of course, a very familiar cat!
- Two New Mini-Games: The Cutie City arcade has two new activities to enjoy.
- New Café Decorations: Create your dream aquatic-themed café with furniture!
- More to Discover: Wander around the island and explore the world around you to discover some fun new interactions, such as playing in piles of fallen leaves, making a wish on dandelions that have gone to seed, and more!
The Neat Things DLC is available today!
Spray Paint Simulator (PC)
The town of Splatterville is in dire need of a makeover (apparently)! Spray Paint Simulator is a relaxing and satisfying paint simulator that invite you to start your own painting business. Take on each job from the start by prepping your space to ensure you deliver the best results, selecting the right colors for the task, and unleashing your creativity as you paint to perfection and keep your customers happy!
You can upgrade your tools, vehicles, and equipment, and take advantage of an assortment of ladders and scaffolding to help you get to those hard-to-reach spots. Fill the world with rainbow hues, painting everything from rooms and homes, to cars, to bridges, and even giant robots!
And with the newly announced ‘Free Spray mode’ you can make the entire town your canvas!
A new demo will be available on Steam on 13 February 2025. The full game will release in 2025.
Kernel Hearts (Xbox Series S/X & PC)
Combining challenging hack-'n-slash gameplay, role-playing, and roguelike elements with stunning anime aesthetics, in Kernel Hearts, you will battle your way up a deadly celestial tower, building your arsenal of skills with each mortal demise to eradicate monstrous angelic enemies and dethrone a god to save the world.
As a member of M.A.H.O.U Unit "” an elite fighting force of super-powered android magical girls "” you and up to three allies are tasked with one thing: destroy a god to save the world from the brink of extinction. Starting from the base of the mythical Tower of Babel, you'll fight your way through an array of powerful enemies from all sides, as you climb each level, gaining crucial skills and magical powers to help you surmount its pinnacle "” and the new threats each floor brings with it.
Kernel Hearts will release later in 2025.
Slime Heroes (PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series)
Slime Heroes is coming to PlayStation!
Journey through a whimsical world entrusted to an unlikely hero, a slime, tasked to save it from a mysterious corruption. Explore the expansive 3D environment "” alone or with a friend "” and encounter ferocious enemies, challenging but approachable puzzles, and uncover forgotten treasures.
Gain magical gems throughout the world and dynamically combine them to create unique and powerful magical skills that can take down even the most corrupt minions and bosses. Discover a touching story of overcoming expectations, friendship, and forgiveness as you progress and find out how even slimes can be heroes!
It'll release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series on 13 February. The Switch version will release later in the year.
Magical Delicacy (PS4, PS5)
Magical Delicacy, the Metroidvania-lite meets cooking game, is coming to PlayStation!
A wholesome adventure set in an enchanting world, Magical Delicacy invites you to play as the young witch Flora, who travels to the adventurer's town of Grat to grow her magical skills and fulfill her dream of becoming a full-fledged witch. Upon arriving, she takes up shop to cook meals and potions for the diverse cast of locals, from the charming townsfolk and mysterious travelers to forgotten figures of legend and masters of their craft. As she traverses the cozy harbor town, she'll discover their stories and learn that there is more to Grat than meets the eye.
Collect an assortment of inspiring ingredients from shops, foraging through the town, and by growing them in your garden. Cook up a storm in your upgradeable kitchen using a variety of tools and deliver your meals to fulfill the orders from hungry townsfolk. Explore the unfamiliar town of Grat, learn new ways to traverse, discover secrets, and experience a unique and witchy world one dish at a time.
Magical Delicacy is aiming to release on PlayStation in 2025. It’s already available on PC, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island (PS4, PS5)
Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is coming to PlayStation!
Take on the role of backpacker Alex, who has found herself stranded on the mysterious shores of Ambrosia Island. As she begins to explore her surroundings, she discovers that she is not alone "” the island is populated by the gods of Greek myth and legend! However, something is amiss "” the gods are unable to remember who they are. In order to find her way home, she must befriend the inhabitants and help them to restore their memories.
Explore the dynamic island in this non-linear adventure inspired by elements of the Ace Attorney franchise and A Short Hike. Unravel the story of the island and build friendships with the gods through a unique relationship mechanic. The closer you become, the more they are willing to help Alex with their godly powers. Solve the mystery of Ambrosia Island, save the gods, and help Alex find a way back home!
