Eternal Strands’ Epic Foes Harvest Guide

Eternal Strands has quite a few epic foes for you to hunt down to increase your own weaver skills. Your first time defeating them will unlock the skill so you’ll have access to them pretty quickly by taking them down to 0. However, if you want to increase your skills to maximum, you’ll want to be sure to harvest from each epic foe an additional two times. Not every epic is as straight forward to hunt so here’s your quick and dirty guide to harvesting for your weaver!

Quick Note – You’ll always know when an ark or creature is ready to harvest as they’ll have a golden orb under their health bar. Once you see this, find their point as soon as possible!

Ark of Stricken Earth

While your first fight with this ark will seem fairly easy, don’t expect the others to go so smoothly. To take down this ark, you’ll need to remove his chest armor by finding all the grey connecting pieces. This ark needs all of these pieces removed so you can expose the extraction point. Freezing armor makes it easier to break so this is a great idea if you want a quick way to harvest and be done. Think of this simplicity as a tutorial boss. They won’t all be so easy.

Ashpeak Drake

Be ready to take flight with this one. Also, try not to do too much damage since you’ll need to make sure this one can still fly if you plan on harvesting it. The drake still requires some breakage, namely the horns on its neck and head as well as breaking ONLY one wing. If you break both, be prepared to just kill the drake and start over later. You will need to harvest the drake while it is flying so make sure you have plenty of stamina to be up in the air for a second or two before the harvest point opens up.

Ark of the Living Flame

The Living Flame can be a bit tricky as you’ll have to locate each of the hidden gems that need removing. You’ll find the first two on the back of his legs and these are probably the easiest to reach. However, as you climb up the body, you’ll see this Ark has one on the left arm, one on the chest, and the final one near the top of the staff.

After exposing and removing all of these gems, you can then make your way up to the very top of the ark and harvest from the center of its hat. This ark can be tough as it will often call on servants and you’ll see lots of flame magic on the body and staff of the ark. I highly recommend armor that is good with heat.

Ark of the Forge

I will be honest, this was my LEAST favorite to harvest. The Ark of the Forge will keep you on your toes while you wait for it to rampage. You’ll know this is coming once all the armor turns orange/red. Keep an eye for when it slams the hammer down either clockwise or counter clockwise three times as that signals the end of the rampage. Once he’s in cool down mode, you’ll see the cores come up from the hammer. They are not exposed for long so you may need to do this more than once.

While waiting for the hammer to fall, you can work on taking off the armor that will cover the harvesting spot. Climb up towards the left shoulder and you’ll see grey latches similar to ones The Ark of Stricken Earth has. One will be on its front and one on the back. Once you’ve removed the cores from the hammer and cleared this armor, be ready to harvest away!

Rehnland Sledgewyrm

This a thicc boy, feel free to play your favorite thicc boy meme before continuing to read. All jokes aside, this one is a more straight forward harvest. Essentially, you’ll find lots of glowing bits along the back of it’s body and on its legs. You’ll have to destroy each of these before you can harvest this big boy. After destroy all of its fancy glowing bits, you’ll then have to harvest from it’s tail. Brynn starts with the information to deal with this monster in her codex, but the TLDR is below.

TLDR: If it glows, it must go. Then harvest from tip of the tail.

Ark of the Winter Tide

This is my second least favorite Ark to harvest, but it’s okay. Just be sure your timing is impeccable with this one. This Ark will regrow it’s icy armor and you must get rid of it all before you harvest.Thankfully, it often smashes its own claws which gives you carte blanche to focus on the rest of its armor.

Once you’ve removed all of the ice armor, your next step will be to harvest from its right forearm. If you can get your timing right, you may be able to jump right on his arm after he smashes down, but feel free to jump climb up his leg like I did.

Highland Iceclaw

Another bird and another sky high adventure. You’ll want to wear your best winter wear when fighting this bird as they will turn the battlefield into a sheet of ice. Be ready to use a lot of flame magic to also keep the fighting area an even playing field at times. As with the Ashpeak Drake, in order to harvest you will need to only destroy one wing. Destroy both and you’ll have to be satisfied just going for the kill.

This stubborn bird may also not want to fly to allow you to harvest. If you see the bird isn’t quite going up to the skies, break both of its legs without injuring the second wing. When the legs are broken it is more likely to start flying. You’ll also need to be ready to harvest while up in the air so keep some stamina going as you ride this bird way up high.

Brennig Glasstail

The Brennig Glasstail can be a bit of a pain just based on the placement of his crystals. You’ll have to make sure you take out all of the crystals on his body and make sure not to miss the one on his chin. Once you’ve done this, burn off all its fur and then you’ll be able to harvest from the back of the neck.

Spoiler Warning Ahead

As with many games, there is always a final foe. You won’t see this heinous monster until a while into the game and we don’t want to spoil too much for you so here is your warning.

As we mentioned in the review of Eternal Strands, it is a beautiful game and you should take your time with it. If you don’t want to know about the final foe too soon, scroll up, turn back. Bookmark this page and come back when/if you need the help on harvesting this beast.

If you’re not afraid of spoilers, then read ahead! Be forewarned, this foe can take quite the hit!

Surgeborn Herald

I won’t rank this as the most stressful since it is basically the final foe, but if I was, it would be. Much like every other Surgeborn, the monsters the enclave sealed away, you’ll have to break all the visible armor first. Since it is a massive foe, you’ll want to find ways to get to the armor bits. I do not have the best aim, so my plan was to do so using frost magic, freezing its bits and then climbing. The fire bow can also be helpful in burning the armor.

If you can switch between your weapons quickly, you can use the sword and shield to repel its ranged attacks back at it. Your timing will have to be perfect with this but it is extremely helpful.

After removing all the armor, be sure to remove the horns of its helmet and then you are ready to harvest. However, this one will fight back, so getting the Hit Points to be pretty low will be extremely helpful. If you want to see a painfully long video, watch below, but it was eventually a successful harvest.
