In the latest video game to TV adaptations, it has been announced that the PS3 exclusive, Beyond: Two Souls will now be getting a television adaptation. Developed by Quantic Dream, the supernatural adventure game starred Elliot Page as Jodie Holmes, a young woman with a connection to an entity named Aiden and Willem Dafoe as Nathan Dawkins, a paranormal researcher who served as a father figure to Jodie.
Beyond: Two Souls was released back in 2013 during the boom period where narrative adventure games like Telltale’s The Walking Dead and Life is Strange took gamers by storm. Although receiving more mixed reviews, the performances of both Page and Dafoe were universally lauded and the game was widely praised for its interactive storytelling overall.
Page is set to produce the upcoming series through his PageBoy Productions company after getting the ok from Quantic Dream and the series is expected to explore the games non linear narrative, showing Jodie’s journey from government experiment to fugitive while figuring out her connection to Aiden.
"Filming the game was one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences of my career," Page said. "The story's rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers." said Page.

The series is in very early development and as of now, Page isn’t expected to reprise his role as he’s only confirmed to be producing. It is also unknown if Willem Dafoe will reprise his role as Nathan. The series announcement also came as a bit of a surprise as there was a deal of controversy surrounding it over an unauthorized nude model of Page.
That appears to be in the past as David Cage, CEO of Quantic Dream had this to say. "We are absolutely thrilled to collaborate again with Elliot Page on this project," said Quantic Dream CEO and Beyond: Two Souls director David Cage about today's news. "I was blown away by his acting performance in the game, and I couldn't think of anyone else to tell this story with the same passion on another medium. Beyond: Two Souls is a very special game for millions of players around the world who were moved by the story of Jodie and Aiden, and their journey in life and beyond. I know that Elliot has all the talent and instinct to make it something really unique on TV."
No word on when the series will release as of yet. So we’ll just have to stay tuned.
