Fuban can be very overwhelming at first, but if you are patient, it is quite simple. I went in to this battle with two spells, freeze and invisibility. Potions I used were Evil Repelling Medicament, and the galegaurd armor set. I also used wandering wight.
Like most games, bosses like this can take damage from behind. Well, not Fuban. You can only cause damage to his two front claws. Locking on between both claws is essential to winning this fight. You don’t need to unlock and relock on, simply move your right joystick to aim at the different leg that isn’t in the air. It will help you dodge the one leg that is in the air.
Fuban will swing his leg back and forth a couple of times. So never expect a one swipe. His reach is far and completely covers is left and right side completely despite which way you roll. So make sure you are timing your dodges when the leg is about to hit you.
He will use a head butt, this is easy to dodge and you just make sure you aren’t in between his legs when he strikes down.
Where he is most difficult is when he goes under ground. Once he reaches you, make sure to run away and dodge. When he dives after you. I used invisibility to help me dodge it. Run to the left of him and keep dodging as he fall down on you. This is your best chance to avoid the attack.
Half way through the fight, you will climb on top of him and collect a spirit. The king will come down to help you finish the fight.
Rinse and repeat all the first steps. This part is easier since the King aggros Fuban.
