Black Myth Wukong: How to Kill the Wandering Wight

So you are stuck on the first dude with a big ‘ol health bar huh? I’m here to help. Lets go over how to get you through big stone baby fight, AKA the Wandering Wight.

When I beat him I had leveled up 9 times. I did this by simply attempting to fight him at lower levels and exploring the area around him for a little bit. I put 3 points in to stamina and health. The other three points went to stamina recharge and most importantly, the ability to power up my heavy attack while sprinting.

This enemy is extremely aggressive as you might have already known. We all know that a good defense is a good offense, so here are some moves you will want to watch out for…

  • When he pounds the ground with his right fist, it will cause 3 shock waves. Move back as far as you can because this will expand. There will sometimes be a fourth shockwave followed up by a lightning bolt. So stay vigilant, be prepared to dodge this.
  • If electric bolts start sparking from him, be prepared to dodge left or right. NOT backwards or forward. You need to time this right just the once in order to survive this one hit death.
  • When he starts swinging his fists or stomping just dodge away. Not side to side. He is highly aggressive and trying to get a few swings in to hit him while he is attacking you is far too risky and not worth the damage you will cause.
This is the distance I kept when he did his ground pound move

Charge your heavy attack, follow it by doing your basic attacks combo until you stagger him, slap couple more hits in to him until you run out of stamina. Immediately freeze him, wait for stamina regen. Then pop off another basic attack combo staggering him a second time. Then run away and wait for your freeze ability and stamina to regenerate. Once you find an opening either A: wait for an opening to perform a charged heavy attack or B:freeze, and perform a basic combo attack. You will want to time this combo in a way that when you smite your staff downward to stagger him, he will not be frozen. You cannot stagger him while frozen. If you tackle this boss fight constantly looking to heavy attack him, you will fail.

TIP

If you are having a hard time avoiding his aggressive attacks while trying to recharge, there is a nifty spot behind this rock and tree that you can use to trap him and get him stuck. This isn’t a glitch, it just takes him a moment to realize he needs to walk around to approach you. Keep a reasonable distance from him and he will continue to just attack from this spot. If you run away too far, he will quickly walk around the rocks.

You cant see the Wight very well. but he is directly behind that tree in front of me.

Congratulations! First boss baby down. Many more to go…
