Is 2025 the year of developer Rebellion? I think it could be, well the first half at least. With Sniper Elite: Resistance launching on 30 January, followed by the brand new IP, Atomfall, and then Zombie Army VR release later into 2025, it’s looking possible. Today, we learn more about the upcoming Atomfall, with a brand new ‘Gameplay Overview‘ trailer.
Atomfall is the upcoming action-survival adventure game that is set in the north of England. Seemingly a “Fallout in Britain“, Atomfall sees you emerging from a quarantine zone five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster (a real-life event). The game has you exploring the gorgeous looking countryside to uncover the mystery of what’s really going on.
In the seven minute Gameplay Overview trailer, we are guided through some of the different environments of Atomfall. We also meet some of the characters we’ll be find along the way (both friend and foe). We learn that your actions within in the game impact on how some characters will respond to you. It seems you can choose to be well-liked and well-behaved, or cause trouble and be more chaotic. Presumably somewhere in between too is also an option.
We also got a look at some more of the gameplay mechanics that we’ll have access to, including the different combat styles (melee and ranged, with a delightfully well placed dialogue line at 5:23). The Gameplay Overview trailer also shows us the upgrade / skills tree. You invest skill points, from training manuals you discover in-game in ranged or melee combat, survival and ‘conditioning’. The video doesn’t go into too much detail on these (expect more videos in the future).

You’ll also have access to a metal detector to uncover supply caches throughout the world. Finding resources and crafting (good news, Lady V) will ensure you are kept topped up with ammo, upgraded weapons, and survival items.
The narrator promises us that more in-depth looks, such as the Gameplay Overview trailer, will be coming soon. Atomfall releases on 27 March, so expect these to be dropping sooner rather than later.
Atomfall releases day one on Xbox Game Pass, and on PC, PS4, PS5 Xbox One, Xbox Series.
Will you be picking up Atomfall when it drops in March?
