While we may be in a little lull in releases during the post-holiday season for the Xbox, a shadow drop of The Exit 8 is now available for purchase.
Released in 2023 by Kotake Create, The Exit 8 was initially released on PC and has since made its way to other platforms. Along the way, it was awarded a "Breakthrough Award" at the Japan Game Awards 2024. The goal of the game? Simply reach Exit 8 – easy, right? If only it were so.
As you traverse seemingly endless underground passages that all look similar, things get stranger and stranger. Think of this game as a "Spot the Difference" walking simulator, with anomalies not being as blatantly apparent and failure to notice these "glitches" will bring you back to the start of your journey.
The Exit 8 was designed purposefully to be both short and low-budget, but despite this, has gained a sizable fan-base and has even gained enough traction to be adapted into a movie in the future.
The Exit 8 can be picked up now on the Xbox store for $3.99/£3.99 for both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. It’s already available for PC, PS5 and Switch.
