Symphonia ð„ž is a fantastic 2D platformer by Sunny Up (we gave it a 9 in our review), and sees you control birdlike musician, Philomen, in their quest to bring together three scattered Founders of the musical world of Symphonia. Doing so will save the world from silence and a fractured citizenship.
As your explore the hand drawn worlds and musical themed lands, you’ll uncover a number of hidden items and collectibles. Three of the sneakiest, and toughest, to grab are the three Prodigy’s letters that uncover more of the lore of Symphonia ð„ž. There’s also an achievement / trophy attached to each letter as well as a fourth one for collecting them all.
So where do you find the Prodigy’s Letters? All the details are below:
The Trickster’s Letter (Prodigy’s Letter 1)
Unlocks the ‘Abandoned by All’ achievement / trophy.
The first letter, The Trickster’s Letter, can be found on Windwood Glasshouse (Level 2). The location of the secret area can be found just after you get your violin back from The Trickster (this is part of the story).
You’ll reach an open area with a moving platform and flying sharp objects to dodge (if you were carrying on the level as normal). Above this area, you’ll spot a cushion and a ledge, jumping up from that ledge takes you to the secret area, at the end of which is the first letter.
You can’t reach this area until you’ve unlocked the ‘grappling bow’ ability, which you won’t receive until the beginning area of the Brass Castle (Level 4). Once you’ve got that, you can use the fast travel ability to return to the level and progress back to where you need to (The Trickster doesn’t take your violin again, don’t worry).
Check out the challenge that awaits in the video below:
The Matriarch’s Letter (Prodigy’s Letter 2)
Unlocks the ‘Without Ever Falling’ and “Taking Notes” achievements / trophies
Getting the second letter will net you two achievements / trophies, one for collecting the Matriarch’s Letter, and one for discovering the piano’s secret. And good news, you can’t do one without the other!
You’ll need to be in String Meadows (level 3) to find this one. Head to the giant piano that you use to progress through the level normally. When you get there, activate the piano. You’ll need to have collected / made note of the poster that you found in the Brass Castle level (level 4) to be able to unlock this one (helpfully, we’ve included the poster below).

Enter the right notes, and the door next to the piano will unlock and you’ll get the “Taking Notes” achievement, and then you’ll have access to the secret area, at the end of which you’ll grab the Matriarch’s Letter and the “Without Ever Falling” achievement / trophy.
As you’ll see from watching the video below, you’ll likely die, a lot, it’s a tricky area, but well done when you get there (I did get there even if the video didn’t, honest!).
The Kinglet’s Letter (Prodigy’s Letter 3)
Unlocks the “The Weight of Responsibilities” achievement / trophy
The final letter is probably the easiest one to find. In fact, you might even come across this one first. It’s located in the Brass Castle level (level 4) and you’ll come across a glass door as you progress through the level normally, next to a violin activated platform that goes down (to follow the story).
Unlock the glass door (‘Y’ on Xbox) to open the door and go through the wooden door to the secret area. That’s it, as easy as that. Alas, the sequence you must face isn’t so easy (check out my edited video below to get an idea what you’re going to face).
Upon completion you’ll unlock the “The Weight of Responsibilities” achievement / trophy.
Once you have collected all three letters (it doesn’t matter which order), you’ll unlock the “States of Mind” achievement / trophy for collecting all three of the Prodigy’s Letters. Well done!
