Children are our future, and while Rainybrook’s future looks pretty grim, we should do what we can to help in Venture to the Vile. Ms Squirrel, found at the back of the gardens next to Dr Crow’s manor, tasks us with finding her pupils. Completing this side quest, called School’s Out, also unlocks the trophy of the same name.
There are four children to find around the world of Venture to the Vile, with Nora Newt being the fifth already in the gardens. She has her own quest, and once you complete that for her she gives you hints about the others.

Right, let’s find those kids!
Venture to the Vile Map

#1 – Beatrice Donkey – Winding Creeks Gardens
Entering the Winding Creeks Gardens from Stanley Road, head to the left and take the path into the foreground near a picnic spot.

Continue going left, passed the congregation of Nigel, and into the excavation site.

On the far left side of the site is Beatrice Donkey, who will not go back to Ms Squirrel. The trick is to speak to her when it is raining, which convinces her to return.

#2 – Lucy Owl – Rainybrook High Street
Lucy Owl can only be found after you have completed Act One and spoken to Lieutenant Beagle to get the map. At night, you can find the masked girl standing in the little courtyard in front of the police station.

Speak with her to start the Haunt and Seek side quest which gives you access to the Forgotten Residence to the right of the police station. Inside you’ll meet a talking grandfather clock which tasks you with his own side quest!

Don’t worry, that’s all you have to do to get Lucy Owl to return to Ms Squirrel. We are halfway to unlocking the School’s Out trophy, don’t stop now!
#3 – Ada Canary – Black Hill Mines
Little Ada Canary is in the Black Hill Mines, found at the back of Lost Thicket on the right. You’ll need to speak to Walrus Snr to gain access to the mines. You’ll need the Tendril Grasp ability you unlock for beating the Seasalter Harbour boss.

After entering the Black Hill Mines and following the linear path, you’ll reach the main room with two large elevators and a wooden building. Use Tendril Grasp to get up into the wooden structure to find the very trusting Ada.

#4 – Lizzie Sheep – The Lanes
The last one to find is Lizzie Sheep, although she is probably the first you come across naturally playing the game. You need the ground slam ability you get for beating the Weeping Willow Mausoleum boss.
Make your way through the Lanes, keeping an eye out for house number 30. Go in through the hole in the wall and work your way round to a fireplace on the ground floor.

You should hear voices coming from somewhere, so use your ground slam and help the trapped child!

With all four youngsters returned to Rainybrook, that is the side quest finished, and the School’s Out trophy unlocked. Congratulations!
