The situation is bleak in the town of Rainybrook; the eponymous Vile has overwhelmed much of the settlement and its surroundings, corrupting anything it comes across. How about some music to raise the people’s spirits? While it won’t put an end to the Vile’s gradual advance, completing the A Band Apart side quest does unlock the A Band Together trophy. Sounds like as good a reason as any to help reunite Rainybrook’s local band!
First, you want to locate the Toad and Crown Pub, which is to the right of the main bridge in Rainybrook. Go inside and speak to the proprietor, Toadius, who will ask you to return the three band members to play on his stage. Now it’s time to track down Sleepy Jim, Slick Stu, and Mert. and get the band back together!

Sleepy Jim – Rainybrook High Street
It’s a easy one first. All you need to do is run all the way to the right to the bathroom inside the Toad & Crown, climb over it and run left through the pub’s attic. At the far left end you find (and likely hear) Sleepy Jim taking a break. Chat with him and he’ll promise to return to the stage.
Mert – Weeping Willows Mausoleum
Reaching Mert in the mausoleum is probably the trickiest bit about getting the A Band Together trophy, so I’ll guide you to his location in a bit more detail. You’ll need the Tendril Grasp and Cudgel Fist to reach him.
On entering the mausoleum, head to the right and climb across the chandeliers to the upper floor. You should reach a path that takes you to the back side of the building, where there is a campsite next to three cranks. Use these to raise all four large chandeliers up high, and then get to the right side of them where there are hook points to get up to them.
Now platform across the chandeliers to the left and you’ll reach another path leading to the back of the mausoleum. Move to the back and platform up until you reach an opening on the right with a wooden sign. Follow this path to the right across collapsing platforms, and you’ll soon see that you are walking along the rafters of the mausoleum.
Continue going right and smash through some walls, where you’ll be above the organ (indicated by the organ pipes in the background).
Work your way down and you’ll find Mert here, humming to himself.
Slick Stu – Windmill
Stu is a tricky one, not because he is hidden away, but because the clue you get for his whereabouts it wrong! Don’t bother searching round Seasalter Harbour for this musician, and head to the Windmill at the back of the Reeking Marshes.
Mert is found at the very top of the Windmill, at the back of the building on the right hand side. Just progress to the top of the Windmill and you should see (and hear) him in the corner.
With all three band members found, return to the Toad & Crown and you’ll hear the band strike up a tune! Speak with Toadius again and he’ll thank you.
Congratulations! You successfully reunited the band, completing the A Band Apart side quest, and unlocking the A Band Together trophy!
