Good news puzzle solvers! The classic, and critically acclaimed philosophical puzzle, The Talos Principle is getting a remake in the form of “The Talos Principle: Reawakened”.
Making the announcement today, Devolver Digital and developer Croteam have given us a first taste, and trailer of the remastered puzzler, due to release early next year. If you’re unfamiliar with The Talos Principle, it involved you taking control of a robot with a human conscious and solving a whole host of increasingly complex puzzles.
The Talos Principle: Reawakened is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and will feature new content, enhanced gameplay, and a “gorgeously upgraded presentation”. It will include the expansion “Road to Gehenna”, and includes an all-new chapter, “In the Beginning”, which covers the story of Alexandra Drennan, giving players the opportunity to truly consider the human condition.
Reawakened also brings with it a puzzle editor that allows players to build worlds and challenges, and share it with the community. Given the ingenuity of some of the gaming community, I can’t even begin to conceive the sort of things that people might come up with.
The Talos Principle: Reawakened releases for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles in early 2025.
