Commandos: Origins is the long awaited return of the stealth turn based tactics game following the last new isometric entry of the series Commandos 3: Destination Berlin released in 2003 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. There’s been a few remasters since then, and one foray into the First Person Tactical space, but Commandos: Origins looks to be shaping up as a true return to form for the series.

Fans of the franchise will need to wait a little bit longer though, as publisher Kalypso Media has released an announcement delaying the game until March 2025:
"The Commandos franchise has always been rooted in tactical precision; offering different approaches to solve versatile missions. The teams at Claymore Game Studios and Kalypso Media are fully committed to honoring this legacy. With the valuable feedback we have collected from our devoted community, we're now making the final adjustments needed to deliver the best possible tactical experience for our players""¯said Jürgen Reusswig, Studio Director at Claymore Game Studios, thanking the community for their insights.
This statement comes after a closed beta of the game that ran earlier this year, and the delay looks to allow the devs over at Claymore Game Studios to focus on improved game performance, improved AI, smoother and more intuitive controls, a revamped UI/UX and a full new cast of professional voice actors.

The team at Claymore Game Studios have also published a dev diary to help keep fans abreast of all of the updates, so if your interested in turn based tactics games or a fan of the franchise you should definitely check it out.
Commandos: Origins will be launching in March 2025 and will be available on day one with Xbox Game Pass for console and PC and on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC, and PlayStation®4|5.
