It’s been a bit quiet from the Lies of P devs, Round 8 Studio, as of late. Since their community address back in September, where they shared some of the concept art of the new DLC locale, as well as a lovely piece of music from the upcoming content, there’s been hide nor hair heard. Until this week…
In a recent statement from Publisher, Neowiz, it was confirmed that the hotly anticipated DLC is scheduled to arrive in Quarter 1 2025. They’re being very coy with the information as yet, as we’ve little information to go on as to where the DLC will take Pinocchio, and what he will be facing! We know there’s a lighthouse (there’s always a lighthouse…).

In the same statement, Neowiz confirmed that a brand new title was being developed by Round 8 Studio, seemingly separate from the Lies of P, and its previously confirmed sequel’s, world. The new project will be a “survival horror project set in a sci-fi world” and will be releasing on PC and consoles, using the Unreal Engine 5 engine.
The statement also alludes to the performance of Lies of P, selling approximately two million copies and achieving “significant results by entering Microsoft ‘s Game Pass”. The publisher notes reaching over seven million cumulative users within five months of release.
It seems there’s some expectations being put on Round 8 Studio with Neowiz proclaiming that “Round 8’s next work is expected to be an important test for expanding the global presence of the Korean game industry and Neowiz’s growth”, no pressure then!!
It stands to reason that they want to build on this momentum and get all the cylinders firing. I just hope that the Round 8 Studio team don’t become too stretched, or build too big too fast, where it might impact the quality of the game. The statement alludes to new resources and hires to strengthen the team’s capabilities, including developer of ‘Buried Stars’ at Line Games, Seungho Jin, and Sanggyun Lee, who developed ‘Mabinogi Heroes’.
I feel pretty confident the team will nail it, Lies of P is was one of my all-time favourites now, so I am very excited to see what comes next.
