Good news gore fans, as your resolution is about to be tested. The Callisto Protocol, the criminally underrated game from Striking Distance Studios with Dead Space running through its DNA has received a fairly substantial upgrade for the PS5 Pro.
Although previously announced to be getting a PS5 Pro update on launch, it seems that the PS5 Pro update wasn’t ready in time for the console’s launch a couple of weeks ago, with Striking Distance having put out a new trailer for the already amazing looking survival horror game, announcing that the update is available now.
The PS5 Pro enhanced features include running the game at 4K resolution, at 60 FPS with full ray-tracing on, as well as an 8K resolution, at 30 FPS with full ray-tracing on too (of course you’ll need an 8K display to take full advantage of that mode).
We recently played The Callisto Protocol at the Gamer Social Club as our community game of the month, and I know everyone had a blast going back to it.
I’m really hoping that this most recent update, coupled with the release of [Redacted] means that Striking Distance are still thinking about The Callisto universe. Maybe we’ll get a sequel to The Callisto Protocol in the future?
Would definitely recommend playing the original, it was excellent, though I must go back and play the Final Transmission DLC.
