We knew that Atomfall, the upcoming fallout-esque survival adventure would be releasing in March 2025, but we didn’t have a specific release date…until now!
Yes, developers of the Sniper Elite series, Rebellion, have revealed, via a new release date trailer, that Atomfall will be launching on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series consoles on 27 March 2025. It will also be launching day one into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

In the trailer, we get a tease of more of the mystery that encompasses the games narrative, with the prominent red British phone box making an appearance, giving us a cryptic phone call with the message “Oberon must die”.
Atomfall is set in the aftermath of a nuclear disaster at the Windscale nuclear power station in the north west of England. You’ll be tasked with solving the mystery at took place there, leading you to explore military encampments, abandoned bunkers, and explore Pagan ruins.
You’ll meet a raft of different characters and factions that all live within the quarantine zone, including a very militaristic presence. Your tools will come in the form of melee and ranged weaponry, as well as handy equipment, such as a metal detector.
Some of the key features of Atomfall include:
- A single player survival-action game, drawing from science fiction, folk horror, and Cold War influences.
- Explore a dark and foreboding world with varying environments and locations.
- Uncover leads through investigation, exploration, conversation and combat as you attempt to solve a mystery inspired by classic British science fiction such as The Day of the Triffids, early Doctor Who, and The Quatermass Experiment.
- Desperate high stakes combat blends expert marksmanship with vicious hand-to-hand combat.
- Craft items and weapons that may save your life, ransack ruined houses for supplies, and even unearth hidden treasures using your trusty metal detector.
- Define your character through interactions with NPCs, light RPG elements, and skill trees.
I’ve said previously that I am very excited for Atomfall, it’s one of my most anticipated titles, and now seeing this recent trailer (which looks fantastic) as well as getting a firm release date only double my excitement!!!
